FAQ

  1. Who should I contact if I set my alarm off by accident (false alarm)?

    Contact your monitoring center.

  2. What monitoring center should I contact?

    Please contact Nighthawk Security.

  3. What happens when my alarm system sounds?

Your security system transmits a signal to the monitoring center. Once the signal is received they try to call the home or business, or the first contact number provided. If there is no answer, the second number provided is contacted. The monitoring facility then contacts the local authorities for your area. This is a typical scenario; the option to customize the contact information is available.

  4. Do I need a phone line for a security system?

In the past this was the means for transmitting. With the new technology available we have the ability to transmit alarm signals via digital cellular communicators or internet connection.

  5. Can Nighthawk Security use the existing equipment in my home or business?

In most cases we are able to if the system is compatible.

  6. What brand of security equipment will Nighthawk Security install?

Generally, Honeywell; however, we offer other suppliers to fit all your security needs.

  7. If I have an emergency, should I call Nighthawk Security first?

In an emergency situation, please call 911.

  8. Am I responsible for testing my system?

Yes, to ensure the proper functionality and operation of your system it is recommended that you test your system every 30 days. To test your system, please contact your monitoring center.

  9. Does Nighthawk Security offer any warranties/service plans?

Installation and service are covered for 90 days and equipment warranties can vary from one to three years. Service plans may be customized to fit your needs.

  10. Does a security system truly protect my home or business?

A security system is designed as a detection device to deter against unwanted entry into your home or business.

  11. What kind of response time can I expect from my monitoring center in a security emergency?

After the monitoring center receives an alarm signal, the customer's customized contact list is accessed. If there is no response the local authorities are contacted. (Some customers choose to have the local authorities contacted immediately in an alarm event, bypassing the contact list.)
